UISEE Partners with Buick LaCrosse to usher in a new era of large-scale ADAS production
UISEE Partners with Buick LaCrosse to usher in a new era of large-scale ADAS production
<p class="news-detail__p">On October 10, the all-new Buick LaCrosse
officially launched. In this project, <b>UISEE,
as a core technology partner</b>, together with industry ecosystem partners,
provides a safe, precise and robust advanced driver assistance software
solution for the model. UISEE is committed to delivering solid technical
support for family mobility, urban commuting, highway long-distance travel and
other scenarios, working hand in hand with partners to help this mainstream
global flagship sedan open a new chapter of intelligent mobility.</p>
<p class="news-detail__p">This large-scale series production delivery marks
another key milestone for UISEE in the passenger vehicle intelligent driving
domain. It also demonstrates the company's capability to deeply integrate into
and serve the supply chain of mainstream global automotive brands. Through
close collaboration across the industry chain, high-quality intelligent driving
experiences are reaching beyond the premium segment to benefit a broader base
of consumers.</p>
<p class="news-detail__p"><b>A Benchmark Flagship with 1.5 Million Units Sold,
Advancing Further in Intelligent Driving</b></p>
<p class="news-detail__p">Since entering the Chinese market in 2006, the
Buick LaCrosse has achieved a remarkable milestone of 1.5 million units across
four generations over 20 years. Each generation of the LaCrosse has addressed
the same question: what do customers expect from "above-class"
premium? The fifth-generation LaCrosse delivers the answer with "50 luxury
upgrades." Beyond the comprehensive enhancements to exterior dimensions
and cabin details, the intelligent driver assistance system — offering "intelligence
parity between ICE and EV, equal excellence for driving and parking" — has
become one of the standout highlights of the new LaCrosse.</p>
<p class="news-detail__img"><img width="100%" src="/uploads/news/news-1792037345312.jpg" alt=""> </p>
<p class="news-detail__p">With a decade of deep expertise in autonomous
driving, UISEE leverages its full-stack in-house developed <b>U-Drive®</b> intelligent driving system to build a comprehensive
full-scenario technology portfolio covering everything from L4 to L2, with
strong scenario adaptability and series-production maturity. In the passenger
vehicle market, mainstream models in the mid-range price band account for over
70% of sales volume. UISEE has consistently focused on delivering high
value-for-money ADAS solutions for passenger vehicles, working with industry
chain partners to bring the comfort experiences once reserved for premium
models to a broad range of entry-level EV and ICE vehicles — actively advancing
the vision of "intelligence parity between ICE and EV."</p>
<p class="news-detail__p"><b>Bringing Veteran-Driver-Level Smoothness to a B+
Segment ICE Sedan</b></p>
<p class="news-detail__p">The intelligent driving industry is broadly
pursuing the technical path of high-compute platforms and large models. Yet in
the vast mainstream passenger vehicle market, how to deliver high-quality
driving and parking experiences under limited compute power has become an
urgent industry challenge.</p>
<p class="news-detail__p">In this Buick LaCrosse series production project,
facing a baseline computing platform of just 20 TOPS, UISEE leveraged its
software design strengths through extreme algorithm and model lightweighting,
together with deep optimization of heterogeneous computing units. The team
maximized every bit of compute potential, ensuring high-frequency and precise
response from related modules, and successfully supported the stable operation
of ADAS features on a baseline hardware platform — working closely with
ecosystem partners to achieve the technical leap of "above-class
experience."</p>
<p class="news-detail__p">For core user scenarios such as daily urban
commuting, highway cruising and congested road conditions, the intelligent
driving system enables the new LaCrosse with full-speed-range ACC, supporting
both urban car-following and highway cruising. It confidently handles complex
driving conditions including deceleration on high-curvature curves, lane
centering on extremely narrow or wide lanes, and offset avoidance when large
vehicles travel alongside. More importantly, it effectively helps reduce driver
fatigue, making congested car-following easier and highway travel more
reassuring.</p>
<p class="news-detail__img"><img width="100%" src="/uploads/news/news-1792037327150.jpg" alt=""> </p>
<p class="news-detail__p">Meanwhile, through deep collaboration with
automakers and partners, <b>UISEE has
achieved series production deployment of the "Smooth Stop" feature on
the new LaCrosse.</b> This project not only effectively transplanted a function
that previously relied heavily on high-compute platforms and advanced models,
but also delivered key technical extensions. UISEE is the technology partner on
this platform project that was first to support the customer in deploying this
function smoothly on a pure ICE vehicle.</p>
<p class="news-detail__p">The "Smooth Stop" feature requires
overcoming the engineering challenge of nonlinear control in pure ICE vehicles.
Current mainstream industry solutions are primarily optimized for PHEV or EV
models, benefiting from the rapid response and high control precision inherent
in electric motors. In contrast, the engine and transmission in pure ICE
vehicles have inherent nonlinearity and latency in torque response, presenting
significant engineering challenges for achieving smooth longitudinal braking
control.</p>
<p class="news-detail__p">During this series production development, UISEE's
R&D team went deep into the lower-level planning and control stack,
redesigning and matching the underlying control logic based on the operating
principles and mechanical dynamics of ICE vehicles, while carefully optimizing
the upper-level planning and control algorithms. Powered by this core control
algorithm, the system effectively compensates for the mechanical latency of the
ICE powertrain, delivering a "Smooth Stop" driving experience on pure
ICE vehicles that effectively suppresses jerks and forward nose-dive motion.</p>
<p class="news-detail__p"><b>Deepening Automaker Partnerships with Solid
Engineering and Rigorous Compliance</b></p>
<p class="news-detail__p">The successful delivery of this series production
project signifies that the system has successfully passed the stringent
thresholds of automotive-grade functional safety, software process capability
and data compliance, laying a solid foundation for the large-scale expansion of
this platform-based solution. <b>As the
launch model of this collaboration, the successful launch of the new LaCrosse
signals that series production deliveries of multiple follow-on models on the
same platform are well underway.</b> This fully demonstrates UISEE's deep
technical accumulation, solid engineering capabilities and comprehensive
compliance system in the passenger vehicle intelligent driving domain.</p>
<p class="news-detail__img"><img width="100%" src="/uploads/news/news-1792037332788.jpg" alt=""> </p>
<p class="news-detail__p">Previously, UISEE successfully obtained Automotive
SPICE (ASPICE) Capability Level 3 assessment certification. This demonstrates
that the company has achieved organizational-level standardized capabilities in
automotive software development processes, project management and quality
management systems, meeting the core entry requirements of global mainstream
automakers. Combined with the previously obtained ISO 26262 ASIL-D product
certification, the two together form UISEE's intelligent driving R&D
assurance system covering both "functional safety + process quality."</p>
<p class="news-detail__p">From high-level L4 enablement to L2 large-scale
series production, UISEE is working together with partners to unlock more
dimensions of mobility scenarios with its "AI Driver," delivering
accessible intelligent experiences to a broader base of users. Looking ahead,
we will firmly pursue our dual-wheel-drive strategy across commercial and
passenger vehicles, continuously expanding the technical boundaries of
full-scenario intelligent driving; and deepen strategic collaboration with
leading automakers and core technology ecosystem partners, committed to serving
as a solid technology foundation that enables more production models to feature
safe, precise and robust "AI Driver" capabilities. </p>
