Background

As a core project of the Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone, Xiangfudan Sci-Tech Innovation Valley focuses on smart transportation and sci-tech park supporting upgrades. In 2022, UISEE's L4 autonomous driving mid-size bus was introduced to create open-road autonomous driving shuttle services, helping advance integrated smart transportation in the Yangtze River Delta and establishing a new model for public mobility in the intelligent connected vehicle era.

Challenges

Service Upgrade Needed: The sci-tech innovation valley urgently required point-to-point autonomous driving short-haul shuttle services, as traditional transportation models could not meet the demand for intelligent, high-quality mobility.

Solution

Deployed: UISEE's L4 autonomous driving mid-size bus — mass-producible, no on-site infrastructure modification required, rapid deployment.

Core Hardware: Equipped with LiDAR + millimeter-wave radar + HD camera + high-precision GPS, enabling 360° all-area perception and centimeter-level positioning, with stable operation in rain, snow, and fog.

Core Capabilities: Based on the U-Drive® intelligent driving platform, supporting automatic start/stop, autonomous speed limiting, lane keeping, autonomous obstacle avoidance, traffic light recognition, and precise station docking.

Operations: Pure electric, green, and low-carbon; one-touch activation by an onboard safety attendant; passing through 4 stations on standardized open-road testing operations; in-vehicle display showing real-time vehicle status and smart stop announcements.

Impact

Improved mobility services: Accurately met point-to-point short-haul shuttle needs, providing safe, efficient, and comfortable autonomous driving mobility experiences and upgrading sci-tech park service capabilities.

Regional Benchmark Leadership: Advanced integrated smart transportation in the Yangtze River Delta, created a commercialized demonstration project for intelligent connected vehicles, and established a new benchmark for urban public mobility.
