Hangzhou Binjiang IoT Street

UISEE's UiBox Autonomous Vehicle served as a mobile mother ship for robotic dogs, helping State Grid Hangzhou create China’s first “autonomous vehicle + robotic dog” collaborative intelligent inspection system, expanding coverage from single points to 15 square kilometers.

Background

As China's first innovative project integrating "autonomous vehicle + robotic dog" collaborative inspection, UISEE partnered with State Grid Hangzhou Electric Power Supply Company to deploy a vehicle-robot collaborative intelligent inspection system at Hangzhou Binjiang IoT Street. This broke through traditional power inspection limitations, safeguarding the city's energy power lifeline through all-area collaborative intelligence and establishing a new benchmark for smart energy inspection.

Challenges

Limited Coverage: Robotic dogs are only suitable for enclosed scenarios such as substations and distribution rooms, with insufficient endurance and range to achieve wide-area inspection.

Low Inspection Efficiency: The traditional model was single-point focused, making it difficult to connect multi-area and long-distance inspection tasks.

High Labor and Safety Pressure: Traditional power inspection involves high labor costs, significant operational risks, and insufficient efficiency, failing to meet the demands for safe and efficient urban energy protection.

Solution

Deployed: UISEE UiBox Autonomous Vehicle, serving as the robotic dog's mobile mother ship

Core Technology: Equipped with the 5th-generation U-Drive® intelligent driving system, supporting traffic light recognition, autonomous obstacle avoidance, and intelligent route planning, adapted to complex urban open-road conditions.

End-Point Capability: Can carry robotic dogs on long-distance commutes of 10+ km, connecting previously isolated single-point inspections into a network and expanding inspection coverage from individual stations to 15 square kilometers.

Impact

Broke Inspection Boundaries: Solved robotic dogs' range and endurance limitations, achieving an upgrade from single-point to all-area inspection coverage.

Significantly Improved Efficiency: Built a layered operation system of "autonomous vehicle regional transport + robotic dog end execution," greatly enhancing power inspection efficiency and coverage while reducing labor and safety risks.

Industry-First Benchmark: Created China's first vehicle-robot integrated intelligent inspection model, providing a replicable and scalable innovative model for urban energy smart inspection.
