Qingdao Dongjiakou Port
UISEE's L4 autonomous container trucks helped Qingdao Port’s Dongjiakou terminal achieve fully automated horizontal transport with zero accidents over 4,888 km, enhancing alignment efficiency and safety.
Background
As a technology enterprise specializing in autonomous driving, UISEE has been helping Shandong Port Group Qingdao Port Co., Ltd. accelerate the construction of a world-class ocean port by deploying safe, efficient, intelligent, and carbon-reducing AI drivers. In February 2025, UISEE signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Qingdao West Coast New Area and Shandong Port Group Qingdao Port. On September 1, 2025, UISEE's two L4 autonomous container trucks entered regular trial operations at Qingdao Dongjiakou Port.
Challenges
Low Operational Efficiency: Slow container yard transit speed, insufficient alignment efficiency, and complex dispatch coordination with manually driven vehicles.
Poor System Compatibility: Poor adaptation between autonomous container truck dispatching and existing port production systems, causing process integration difficulties.
Prominent Safety Risks: Collision risks during automated rail-mounted crane operations and docking procedures require stronger perception and braking.
High Labor Costs: Reliance on human driving makes it difficult to achieve 24/7 continuous operations, keeping operating costs high.
Solution
Deployed: 2× L4 autonomous container trucks.
Core Technology: Equipped with 5th-generation U-Drive® system, 360° surround-view cameras + high-precision multi-line LiDAR, with perception range extended to 50 meters.
Impact
4,888 km cumulative operation by March 2026, zero accidents.
Significantly improved transit speed and alignment efficiency with fully automated full-process operations.
Perception and algorithm dual upgrades reduced collision risks to industry-leading safety levels.
Smart Port Benchmark: Created a replicable port unmanned transport model, advancing Qingdao Port's intelligent and low-carbon transformation.
